NATIONAL CARING AWARD PROGRAM IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis by the National Caring Awards program, which recognizes individuals whose lives exemplify caring and service. The awards are presented by the Caring Institute, founded in 1985 to honor and promote the values of caring, integrity, and public service. An International Caring Award is also awarded to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary work on a global level. Award recipients participate in the November National Caring Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., and receive a bronze statue designed by noted sculptor Frank Eliscu. Each young adult also receives a college scholarship. Nomination applications may be submitted through the Caring Institute's website or by contacting the Caring Institute, 320 A Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002.
