The Kansas Governor’s Points of Light Award Program is designed to honor those who have made a commitment to service in Kansas and are helping to meet critical needs in their communities.  As many as 3 awards may be given to recognize distinguished volunteer service by an individual, a group, or an entire Kansas community. Awards are granted on a quarterly basis.



Eligible Recipients
  • Any individual, group, or community actively engaged in voluntary community service in Kansas .
  • Nominees, except for the National Service Participants, must not receive compensation for service in time or wages.
  • Previous winners are ineligible.
  • Individuals involved in “court mandated community service” are not eligible.
